Pacific ACM presents: Network Games #1 Recap

This past weekend, September 18th to be exact, Pacific ACM held the first official Network Games of the Fall 2010 semester! The event was held in the University of the Pacific Mc Cafferey Center Pine and Spruce rooms. Attendance to this event was higher than average and attracted many new faces. We are pleased to see new faces and hope they will continue to join us for this venue.

Also, a very big thanks to Graham Heaton, Pacific ACM's current Event Coordinator, and David Benefield, Pacific ACM's current ICPC Coordinator for making this event a huge success!

Here are a few photos from the event:

  1. An historic event as well. This marked the first and very successful trial of Epicatan - a version of Settlers of Catan for 8 players.

We came up with a new configuration for the board after we were evaluating 3 versions last semester.

We had considered a few logistical problems beforehand (tape on duplicate colors) and dealt with a new one (lack of a 51st tile).

The only problem we ran into was there were far too many resource cards available after combining 3 packs. This should be solved the next time we play.

PS - and congrats to Paddy, our first winner.
